After a childhood of studying classical piano in Seattle, singer/ songwriter Judy Collins launched a solo folk music career in the 1960's after being inspired by the sounds of Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger. Collins is well-known

for the purity of her soprano vocals as well as her on-going social activism. Collins has won many awards, including a Grammy in 1968 for Best Folk Performance or Recording. Her discography includes thirty four studio and live albums, and more than ten compilations.
